Another Eco Award for Grace Dieu!

Pupils from Grace Dieu Manor School in Thringstone are delighted to have been awarded their second Eco School flag – the Silver Award!

Impressively, this second award has been awarded just six months after the pupils were awarded their Bronze Award – proving just how hard working the School’s Eco Committee are!

This internationally recognised award, for excellence in environmental action and learning, has been awarded to the School’s Eco Committee, made up of pupils in Years 2-6, along with some teaching and non teaching staff, and some parents.

“The pupils have been incredibly committed to achieving this second award and have worked incredibly hard towards establishing and maintaining a sustainable lifestyle at Grace Dieu” says Head of Outdoor Learning Claire Tatton.   “We had set ourselves the challenge of the Silver Award and now we have a next goal in our sights – the Green Flag –  which is the highest award possible!”

“The pupils have been given this Award just after winning a Gold ‘Green Tree School Award’ from the Woodland Trust,” concludes Claire. “All of these awards are particularly fitting for Grace Dieu – given we are situated in 120 acres of beautiful parkland and have a strong reputation for excellence in outdoor learning activities.”
