Physical Education, Sport and the Outdoor Life
Physical Education, sport and team games play an important part in the life of Grace Dieu and the school has an outstanding reputation for sporting achievement. Our excellent outdoor facilities, coupled with a first-class, modern sports hall, and indoor, heated swimming pool, provide ample opportunities for everyone, of whatever ability, to participate fully in the sporting traditions of the school. At the heart of our approach is a blend of high quality coaching and individual instruction. Children receive small group coaching in technique across a wide range of sporting activities.
Both boys and girls enjoy a comprehensive fixture list for a number of sports. Pupils play rugby, hockey, soccer and netball in winter, and in summer they take part in cricket, rounders and athletics. First, second and colts teams are run in most of these sports, many of which have enjoyed great success in recent years. Individuals have also gone on to represent England at junior level in cricket, rugby, tennis, soccer and athletics.
All children are taught to swim and many take ASA proficiency and survival awards. There are opportunities to play basketball and volleyball, tennis and table tennis, badminton and gymnastics. In addition, golf, cross-country and orienteering take place around our beautiful grounds and through adjacent woodland.

Extra Curricular Activities
Life is full and varied at Grace Dieu. Once the academic day is completed, there is a broad programme of extra-curricular activity from which all children can find something to attract them. This might include cami Maths, choir, soccer, art, drama, hockey, rugby, swimming, ballet, modelling, German, orchestra, cross-stitch, golf, dance, chess and others. The outstanding facilities and beautiful environment at Grace Dieu lend themselves to providing a perfect place for activity outside the classroom.
Visits to theatres, concerts and to other places of interest form an integral part of life at Grace Dieu. Additionally, there is an established skiing holiday, an annual sports tour for the girls and boys at the top of the school. A trip to France also takes place each year.
