We enjoyed celebrating a wonderful prize day at Grace Dieu this year where we reflected on each and every one of our pupils’ unique and individual achievements. Our Head Girl welcomed us to the ceremony and led us into the Pre-Prep children’s fantastic rendition of ‘You’ve got a friend in me’.
All of our children were then awarded certificates or trophies in recognition of their amazing achievements this year.
We were delighted to hear our Guest of Honour Ben Jackson, a former pupil and BBC Radio Leicester presenter, deliver a speech full of warmth and encouragement. He spoke about how much he felt safe and nurtured during his time at Grace Dieu and the amazing, engaging staff, some of whom he is still in touch with to this day. Being kind and encouraging kind behaviour was a key theme of his speech and he inspired all our children to reward their parents with a simple act of kindness!
At the end of the ceremony, our Head Boy introduced our energetic Year 6 musical presentation backed gloriously by all our Junior Prep children.
“We are so proud of all our pupils and thank all of the parents and the whole School community for joining us on such a special day to celebrate their achievements this year. It was wonderful to welcome Mr Ben Jackson back to Grace Dieu and to hear him talk about his time at School. He reminisced fondly about his time here, speaking about his favourite teachers and the wonderful pastoral care which, on returning to Grace Dieu again, he felt was still very much present,” commented Mrs Kewell, Headmistress.
After the ceremony, our pupils and parents enjoyed a fun fair on our Chapel playground with rides and refreshments.
